Goodness of God, Praise

I Just Wanted To Say… Thanks.

The end of a month is a great opportunity to reflect on the weeks that have passed and consider the goodness, kindness, comfort, guidance, and gracious favour of our God. An opportunity to set aside time, as well as our requests, and focus purely on thanking God for all that He has done for us during this month.

There is often so much that we take for granted – like every breath we are currently taking; the support of family or friends around us; the Bible at our fingertips. Our circumstances are all different and we will be dealing with challenges of varying degrees right now. It is for these reasons that we need to pause and give thanks to the One who sees us, hears us, knows us, and loves us completely. We lift our heartfelt thanks because everything we care about is held in His hands.

The Lord Jesus walked the road of humanity before us with all its pressures, distractions, cruelty, and pain; alongside love, friendship, kindness, and joy. Now He walks that same road beside us with the attention and devotion of a shepherd, providing places of refuge and times of restoration. He knows all that lies ahead and He has pledged to never leave us.

For all that we have faced, are facing, and will face in the future, the Holy Spirit is our companion and guide, leading us in truth, and directing us with wisdom. He helps us develop strong roots of faith so that we can walk with courage and confidence. And He prays for us when strength leaves us and we feel overwhelmed.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, recognising His sovereignty over all things, and the gracious favour in which He covers us every day.
