Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble. Psalm 107:1-2
Oh give thanks to the Lord, all you his people,
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
Let us praise, let us thank,
Let us celebrate and dance.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
Has the Lord saved you? Say so. Has He been your strength in hard times? Say so. Has He given you a joy and a peace that you cannot even begin to describe? Then say so! Tell it to those who need to hear. Tell of God’s amazing love, His unending kindness and the fullness of His sustaining grace. Let it be known that He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things (v9).
Those surrounded by darkness need to hear about the light; those being swallowed by the death of sin need to hear about the way to life. We don’t hide our thanks for God’s goodness and we shouldn’t whisper our praise in secret. We don’t have to be a megaphone-Christian, but we should never be afraid to tell of what God has done in our life and that His blessings are real.
Thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for all his wondrous works, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! Psalm 107:21-22
Good news can be hard to come by while bad news seems to be on tap. Yet, in our hands, we have a book bursting with good news and filled with stories of hope and encouragement.
Joy needs to be passed on, compassion needs to be felt and love needs to be shown. If God is good, then let the redeemed of the Lord say so!
