Safe in the Secret Place

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. _{Psalm 91:1}

Are you ready for a wonderful truth to meditate on today? In this verse, the word shelter, actually translates as ‘secret place’, a place which is hidden. Where is this secret, hidden place? It is with Elyon, the Most High God, the Mighty One, the Mountain.

God Most High, Possessor/Creator of heaven and earth ^Gen14:19, the Most High, who lives forever; whose dominion is everlasting and whose kingdom endures from generation to generation ^Dan4:34.

There in none higher; no higher power, no higher authority. This is the One who shelters you. When you stay in the secret place of God, he will keep you hidden in the safety of his covering. Think of it as a cloak of invisibility, or slipping into the shadows. Why is this so significant? God sees the path ahead; He sees the climb, that is, the situations you will encounter along the way.

It is no surprise that the devil wants to make your climb as difficult as possible, while God wants to shelter you from the devil’s meddling. With that in mind, God has provided safe places for you to take refuge, because the devil will have a hard time trying to hurt you, when he can’t find you.

The Father longs to protect you. He wants to keep you in the shadow, or covering, of the mountain. He wants this safe place to be your dwelling place.
