Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 1 Corinthians 9:25 Just as the Lord Jesus used metaphors to help the people understand his teaching, so too did Paul. In this instance he used the concept of an athlete because this was something that… Continue reading The Eternal Prize

Wisdom in Freedom
To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. 1 Corinthians 9:22 Paul had found complete freedom in Christ, but although he understood it and had the ability to live fully in that freedom, he restricted… Continue reading Wisdom in Freedom
Spiritually bound

Have you considered that collectively, a fellowship of believers also represents God’s temple? In this letter of Paul’s, when he says,… Continue reading Build with Gold

1 Corinthians 3:7 – So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. In this part of Paul’s letter to the Corinthian believers, he was reminding them of where their focus should be and on whom it should be. We all need leadership and human nature… Continue reading Master Gardener
The Power of the Cross
1 Corinthians 1:18 – For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For those who have not yet put their faith in God or even acknowledged his existence to be real, the cross means nothing and neither… Continue reading The Power of the Cross
