Bible Thoughts

Patiently Wait

We wait for a variety of things throughout our life, and we are continually joining queues and waiting our turn. Some waits are tinged with anxiety, others with excitement and anticipation. The more we deem something worthy, the more value it has to us, the longer we are willing to wait.

Our eternal hope is in the God and Father of our salvation and redemption. He is the strength to our weakness. He is the comfort to our sorrow. He is the light to our darkness. We are nothing without Him, and everything with Him. By His grace we have been granted access to the throne room of God. Isaiah tells us this beautiful truth:

If the Lord is prepared to wait for us, shouldn’t we be prepared to wait for Him even more so? Patience needs practice. We have to learn how to wait in the presence of God, bringing nothing but ourselves; no requests or petitions, just a humble and grateful heart.
