A True Woman
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30
There has always been societal pressure on woman around the globe to act, to dress, to look, and in some countries, even to think a certain way. Unfortunately, for those who are coerced, lured or pressured to conform, they lose all sense of who they really are because personal identity has become mass identity.
Our heavenly Father does not want his daughters to get caught up in any kind of false persona of worldly charm and beauty. A persona that gives the appearance of being real, but in fact hides a deep emptiness. A beauty that is painted on and by which the wearer becomes an abstract version of their true self. God wants to bring out the real version of every woman; the true form that was fearfully, wonderfully, and intricately woven Psalm 139.
The daughter of God finds her worth in the truth of his word and not in the lies of the world. He wants you to see yourself through his eyes and not through the distorted lens of social culture. He wants you to trust his opinions and believe in the talents and gifts that he has given you. You were not mass-produced, you are a unique creation, whose value is found in Christ alone. Learning from Christ and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit brings out the ‘beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious’ 1 Pet 2.
For the woman of God, beauty is more than skin-deep, it is soul-deep. Live in the deep provision of God and stand in the strength, dignity and beauty that he has clothed you in.
