A Wise Woman
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:26
They say wisdom comes with years, and in the sense of worldly wisdom, that is true. The older we get and the more experience of life we get, the wiser we become. We not only learn from mistakes, but also from past events and challenging situations, all of which help us to grow and mature.
Worldly wisdom is one thing, but spiritual wisdom is so much deeper and richer, and it comes from God alone. We are to seek His wisdom, for ‘blessed is the one who finds it; it is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with it’ (Prov3:13,15).
The worthy woman of God has sought this wisdom and has allowed it to grow and mature every day. She grows in knowledge, and her conversations are laced with experience. When she opens her mouth, she speaks from what she knows and she is mature in her thinking. She considers things carefully, and with wisdom she has the ability to make the right decision at the right time. She knows the power of kindness over bitterness, and so she leads by example. She understands the benefits of a productive hand over a lazy one, and the joy that comes from a hand that is open rather than a closed one.
All she perceives, all that she knows and all she has learned, she passes on. Her life is her testimony and all who meet her, learn from her.
Seek out the precious jewel of the Father’s wisdom. Grow in it, learn from it and graciously pass it on to the younger daughters of God.
