No Joke

Doing wrong is like a joke to a fool, but wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding.

Proverbs 10:23

We have all come across those who seem to take nothing seriously and have no regard for consequences. Pranks are second nature and usually come at the expense of making someone else look foolish. Causing someone to feel embarrassed is all in a day’s laugh and there is absolutely no thought given to the feelings of those on the receiving end.

“Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?” _{Proverbs 8:1}

God delights in wisdom and he offers it freely to all. Wisdom and understanding call out to anyone who will listen and receive this great gift. The pleasure in doing wrong is selfish gratification which never lasts. The pleasure in doing right is in seeing the benefit to others.

Seek after wisdom, for it will keep you on the right path and guide you in all that you do.
