Encouragement, Promises, Truth

I Am Eternally Yours

Through these reassuring words, God is declaring an amazing truth. The price to reclaim us has been paid in full. Humanity was lost in sin. Lost in fear and anger; self-importance and hated; insecurity and discontent. The price to redeem us from the consequences of all this, was costly.

Not everyone understands the cost and so, not everyone has accepted the truth of it in their own lives. But for those of us who have, it is a truth that we can meditate on through all of life’s unpredictable circumstances.

As we think through the reality of our redemption, we often explain it as being ‘redeemed from a lost eternity.’ Lost, meaning separated from God; eternity, meaning forever and ever. On the earthly side of the door, although we have spiritual communion with God and an awareness of His presence with us, we don’t see Him face to face. For now, there is a physical separation from the Father, but it is one in which He doesn’t want us to be afraid. And so, into every anxious heart He speaks these words:

We have been redeemed not only from eternal separation but also from everything that threatens to separate us from His peace today – the fear that clouds our faith, the anger that poisons our hearts, the discontentment that robs our joy, and the insecurity that whispers we are not enough. God calls us back from those dark places, reminding us that we belong to Him:
