You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
Have you ever had days when you don’t know whether you’re coming or going? Sometimes there is so much going on that you feel like a headless chicken running from here to there and back again? It’s easy to get overwhelmed at times, doing a half dozen things at once and getting nothing finished. You lose focus and the way through becomes blurred. That’s the time to stop and take a breath.
You make known to me the path of life… There is a purpose to everything and God has a purpose for each one of us. When we are unsure of what that purpose is we tend to get involved with lots of different activities thinking ‘maybe this is the one for me’. God knows your heart, so trust Him to direct you. Spend time, real time, listening to Him.
In your presence there is fullness of joy… Time spent with God is never wasted. If you have become discouraged or disillusioned with the path you’re on, then rest in Him and let Him return your joy. He has bundles of it, so take time out and let it wash over you, refreshing you, filling you from head to toe. Joy is such a beautiful thing to see in a person and it has such a positive effect on others.
At your right hand are pleasures forevermore… God wants His children to experience the very best of life and he has given us so much to enjoy. The mountains and hills, lakes and oceans, woodlands and forest. There is beauty all around us that we can take pleasure in, take rest in and take enjoyment in.
Everyone will experience pain and struggle in life, but in finding God’s path, we also experience unexplainable joy here and now, and eternal pleasures ever after.
