Encouragement, Holy Spirit, Promises

Dressed For Success

God’s plan is in place and there is work to be done for His kingdom, but we are not expected, or indeed encouraged, to do His work in our own strength. The Father himself will clothe us with power, enabling us to carry out His kingdom work. A plumber doesn’t fix a leak with a roll of Sellotape and a gardener doesn’t trim a hedge with a penknife, they go with the right tools for the job. Likewise, God equips us with exactly what we need so that we can serve Hm with confidence.

Every Christian should be in no doubt about the power of the Spirit within them. This is not something that might, maybe, possibly happen to a select few. This is a promise of the Son, from the Father, to every believer and follower of Christ.

This is the Trinity in motion for the work of the Kingdom: The Father began the plan, the Son became the plan, and the Holy Spirit continues the plan through each one of us. We have power within; power from on high.

Regardless of how we feel in ourselves, God does not send us out in weakness; He sends us out in strength. The power of the Spirit stirs up courage, grants us deeper access to the things of God and increases knowledge, so that we can spread the good news with boldness and face the enemy without fear. To be clothed with power from on high is to be dressed for success as we labour in the Father’s vineyard.
