Mutually Beneficial

Exercising faith in God is a personal decision, and choosing to follow Him is something we have to decide on our own. We can’t sail along on the deck of someone else’s salvation. Your faith is for you alone as mine is for me. But, once that initial step of faith has been taken, we then enter into a fellowship of believers. A wonderful place where we can support one another, pray for one another and build each other up. The step of faith may be something we do on our own, but the walk of faith is something we do together.

We all know how easy it is to slip and stumble along the way, so, in order to help each other not to fall away from the living God we are called to exhort (encourage) one another every day because we have come to share in Christ. (Hebrews 3:12-14)

Our walk with God should not be a solitary experience. We are to support and help each other grow in faith. Whether we have been saved for days, months or years, we all have something to share. Together we have years of experience; we have each known God’s mercy, grace and goodness in our lives. We can be an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, a hand to help.

We should never feel that we have nothing to offer. We have the Spirit of God within us and none of us are beyond learning.
