Reverent Praise

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! Psalm 95:6

There is great reverence shown in bowing down before the Lord. When the wise men came to see the promised king, Matthew tells us, they saw the child and they fell down and worshipped him. The prophecies were now hundreds of years old and yet there were those who were patiently waiting and watching for the Saviour to come. What excitement there must have been when they first spotted the star and realised that what was spoken was now being fulfilled. They could have thanked the Lord where they stood, but they chose to go to Bethlehem and bow down.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalm 95:3

The Kings of kings is our Saviour and Lord, He is our God, and we are His people. We lift Him up by bowing down in reverent worship and acknowledging all the wonders that His hands have made.

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1

Make a conscious choice today to bow before the Lord, and offer Him the praise of your heart.
