In His Purposes

So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up, And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied. Acts 9:31

Everything that we experience happens in the full knowledge of God. Learning to trust Him in everything and understanding that His will cannot be overthrown by anyone or anything, allows us the freedom to grow in His purposes. We are His church and it is continually being added to and being built up. It is our walk with Him that contributes to His purposes being worked out within our church fellowship and our community. When we walk in the fear of the Lord, we are walking according to His commands; walking in a manner that does not displease Him but that brings Him joy.

“What does the Lord require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 10:12

Our desire should always be to please the Lord in all that we do, both as individuals and as the church. The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way (Ps 37:23). We are all apostles and disciples going forth in Christ and when we take pleasure in pleasing God, our steps, or walk, become anchored in Him. At the same time, the Holy Spirit encourages us to continue in this way by reassuring us of His presence with us. He is our faithful guide who stays beside us on every leg of the journey.

When we walk in reverent awe before the Lord and in the constant assurance of His strength and power, there is nothing that cannot be achieved.
