Birth of the Christ, Praise, Worship

Reverent Praise

There is great reverence shown in bowing down before the Lord. When the wise men came to see the promised king, Matthew tells us, they saw the child and they fell down and worshipped him. The prophecies were now hundreds of years old and yet there were those who were patiently waiting and watching for the Saviour to come. What excitement there must have been when they first spotted the star and realised that what was spoken was now being fulfilled. They could have thanked the Lord where they stood, but they chose to go to Bethlehem and bow down.

The Kings of kings is our Saviour and Lord, he is our God, and we are his people. We lift him up by bowing down in reverent worship. We acknowledge our Maker by giving thanks for all he has created.
