Don’t Walk in Fear

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. Isaiah 43:1

As you read this, there are thousands of people across the country experiencing fear. People are anxious about their finances and how they can make them stretch. Others are way beyond that and are concerned about finding a safe doorway to sleep in for the night. Some fear the diagnosis from a doctor or the wait time for a much-needed procedure. Fear, for the most part, is in the unknown.

What are your fears at the moment? What is it that distracts you during the day or keeps you awake at night? As Christians, we know that we shouldn’t worry or get anxious, but putting that into practice 100% of the time can be extremely difficult. Our human emotions get the better of us and we feel trapped in our own thoughts. The unknown may cause you fear, but nothing is unknown to God.

When the Lord says, ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you’, that includes redemption from fear. Fear separates us from peace, and God wants to release us from all the things that make us afraid.

I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. (Ps118:5,6)

If the Lord is your Saviour, he is most definitely on your side and by your side. If you are feeling fearful about anything today then call on the Lord and allow his presence to bring you peace.

Don’t walk in fear. With Christ by your side, you can walk into the unknown in the peace and strength of the Lord.
