It is so important that we get our spiritual feet ready to stand firm because the devil is going to use every trick in the book to shake the ground beneath you. He knows the arsenal you have at your disposal, but he is hoping that you don’t, for the spiritual power that you have access to, terrifies him.
The first step to getting him off your back is recognising that he’s on. The devil is sly and cunning, with the ability to hide in plain sight. He approaches you in stealth mode and carefully climbs on. Stealth is an effective military technology and the devil is most definitely at war. He is at war with God, but he cannot defeat God, so he directs his attacks towards the soldiers.
You have three extremely powerful weapons at your disposal which are truly effective against the devil. Not only do they get him off your back, but they also provide you with a protective coating to stop him from getting back on. These weapons are prayer, worship and the word of God.
Through prayer, we summon the divine power of Almighty God, the Lord of heaven’s armies, to protect us on all sides. Through worship, our eyes, our heart and our mind are all lifted up to the One who sits on the throne and who reigns sovereign over all things. The devil has no standing when we give God his rightful place. Through the word of God, we can exercise the truth over every situation, and the truth is a sword that the devil does not want to see in your hands.
When scripture, praise and prayer are on your lips, the devil won’t get close enough to get on your back. So, stand firm, grab your sword, and give praise to the Lord of Hosts.
