Rich Source of Goodness

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. _{Colossians 3:16}

Without the word of God within our heart and within our mind, what is it we would draw upon to guide and direct us? Think about for a moment and ask yourself honestly, ‘who or what would I turn to, to help me through the varied trials of this life?’ Family; friends; mystic Meg; Dr Phil? Most would be well meaning, but how many different directions would you be pulled in? There are many voices, with just as many opinions, trying to get our attention, but there is only one that can guide us into all truth.

The Word of God, and the Word that is Christ, is the only source that can provide everything we need for every eventuality. It is also the only source that fully nourishes the soul, enabling us to live spiritually productive and fulfilled lives.

Whoever abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. _{John 15:5}

Christ is the rich source of goodness that we all need, and through him we can help and encourage each other to live lives that honour him. For all that He has given and for all that he has done, we lift our hearts and voices in thankfulness and praise.

My heart is filled with thankfulness to Him who walks beside;
Who floods my weaknesses with strength and causes fears to fly;
Whose every promise is enough for every step I take,
Sustaining me with arms of love and crowning me with grace.
