Heart of Worship

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Psalm 96:8

When the angels sang, “Glory to God in the highest”, the sound of their worship must have been truly breath-taking. We may not all have the voice of an angel, but one of ways in which we can bring glory to God is the unity of praise.

That together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:6

In life’s hectic schedule, we sometimes bring only our petitions and forget to bring the praise. Have you noticed though, that when you lose yourself in worship, your heart and mind feel lighter? The noise of life falls away as our focus shifts to the One who holds everything in his hands.

What are you bringing and laying before the Lord? Maybe you are thinking that you don’t have much to offer and yet the truth is, we all have the one thing that the Lord wants most.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a wise man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.

We ascribe glory to God by offering him every part of our being and lifting up his name above all else.

Bring to the Lord a heart of worship, a willingness to serve, and a voice to give him praise.
