Shield of Favour

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. Psalm 5:11

Are you taking refuge in God? Do you feel His protection over your life? If you know this to be true, then lift your voice and give joyful praise to the One who holds you in His hand. If you have felt His comfort, rejoice. If you have felt His strength within your spirit, rejoice. If you have felt His peace as trouble surrounds you, rejoice.

We rejoice regardless of our circumstances. The fact that we need to take refuge confirms that there are, (have been and will be), difficult days. The Lord is our relief; he is our respite. There is no joy in difficulty, but there is rejoicing in the One who protects us through it all.

For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favour as with a shield. (v12)

God does not play favourites; His generosity is given in equal abundance to all of his own. When you walk with Him, these blessings are yours.

Take refuge in the Lord, let him be your relief, and lift your song of joy as he spreads his protective shield of favour over your life today.
