What’s in a Word?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

There is Power in the Word – God spoke the Word and brought forth the glorious wonders of all creation. For God said, “Let there be…” and it was so. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made John1:3.

There is Life in the Word – ‘Then God said, “Let us make man in our image.” Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.’ Move forward 2000 years and the Word became flesh. ‘In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John1:4.

There is Truth in the Word – Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” When you know Jesus, you know truth. When you know the truth, you have a responsibility to share it.

In him you also, when you heard the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13

Those who have heard and believed the Word are called to share it by becoming sowers of the Word. By sowing the seed of the Word of God you are sowing the truth, the life, and the power of the Lord into the lives of others.

Pray to be a sower of the Word, and pray that all who hear it would come to know the One who breathed life into their very being.
