Ask yourself this question: Who am I relying on for my spiritual growth?
To be part of a fellowship that is led by a good pastor or ministry team is a huge benefit to the development of your faith. These leaders have the same commission as Peter, to tend and feed the lambs and sheep. They study the word of God, glean its insights, promises, instructions and truths, and then they bring these seeds from God’s greenhouse to yours.
Christian maturity comes through a deeper understanding of God and his word. Good leadership plays a big part in that, but even the best of teachers cannot make you grow spiritually. It is only God who gives the growth through the power of the Holy Spirit within you.
Each time the seeds of God’s word are sown into your life, ask the Lord to cultivate them so that the roots become strong and deep.
