Strengthen Yourself in Confidence

In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Isaiah 30:15 (NKJV)

The rate at which we set our fear aside, is the rate our confidence in God grows. Fear binds us; confidence releases us to be strong in the Lord. There is a chorus that I loved to sing which says:

Be bold, be strong, for the Lord thy God is with you.
Be bold, be strong, for the Lord thy God is with you.
I am not afraid, I am not dismayed,
For I’m walking in faith and victory, c’mon, walk in faith and victory,
For the Lord thy God is with you.

Ephesians 3 tells us this truth, that ‘in Christ Jesus our Lord, we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.’ The confidence that we have may be bold, but it is not brash and it is not arrogant. It’s a boldness that puts aside the fear of approaching Almighty God and replaces it with the ‘confidence to enter the holy places’ Hebrews 10:19.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

To find our strength in quietness is to find it in the peace and tranquillity of the presence of the Lord, and in his presence, our confidence grows. Wait on him in the quietness and let him speak to you. Breath him in and let him fill every corner of your being.

Take a moment to quieten your heart before the Lord, trust in the promises of his word and strengthen yourself in confidence.
