His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3
Just like the Israelites, our salvation takes us on a journey out of captivity to the eternal promised land. God walks with us every step of the way; he is our pillar of cloud and pillar of fire, for his presence dwells with us day and night. As we eat and drink from His word, the all-sufficient God provides everything we need to live a holy life.
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
His divine power, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, flows from his Spirit to yours, enabling you to accomplish things you never thought possible. The Lord Jesus showed us how to live a holy life in an unholy world. He opened up the wonders of the kingdom and the ways of the Father. The Holy Spirit continues that work as he reveals the mystery of the scriptures and helps us to understand and follow the Father’s ways. All that we need to live in a manner worthy of his mercy and grace is found through the knowledge of him.
The better we know our God and the deeper our relationship is with him, the better equipped we will be in life and godliness.
