God's Will, Listening to God, Thursday Thoughts

Who’s Calling?

(God) who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. 2 Timothy 1:9

Have you ever wondered what God is calling you to do, or have you worried that you may have missed his call? We often hear people say of how they were called to the ministry, or called to be missionaries overseas. Paul himself tells that he was ‘called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus’ (1Cor1:1).

So, do we all have a calling? Yes! Absolutely. Are we all called to be pastors? No. Are we all called to be missionaries? No. Are we all called to be apostles? No; but we are all called to be disciples, we are all called to be holy and we are all called into the fellowship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Through our devotion and commitment to serving God and seeking out his will, he will grant us the wisdom to know his plan. God will reveal his will to you at the right time.

In the meantime, live in the calling to a holy life and to faithfully walking in the example of Christ.
