Hold Fast

Psalm 91:14

Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name.

What a beautiful promise from our God and Father – I will deliver him; I will protect him…

We receive protection and deliverance when we acknowledge the name of the Lord, trust Him with every ounce of our being and love Him with all that we have. God is faithful to those who believe in His name. This is evident throughout scripture, especially in the Old Testament where we see the repeated phase your steadfast love and faithfulness.

Holding fast… A baby monkey clings to its mother without fear and with absolute trust as she goes from tree to tree. The mother is fiercely protective, shielding her baby from harm. We need to cling to the Lord in much the same way, as a child to the Father, with complete trust. Knowing that, no matter what may come, if I keep holding on to Him, He will never let me go. He will faithfully keep me and protect me.

Prayer: O Lord, you do not withhold your compassion from me. May your loyal love and faithfulness continually protect me. Amen. (Ps40:11)
